What do you think of when you hear “mozzarella sticks”? If it’s not a chain restaurant or a dingy bar I’m not sure you did your twenties right. For me it’s TGI Friday’s and there’s red and white checkered tissue paper involved and a red plastic basket. Always hot, always melty cheese, always greasy…in that freshly fried from the freezer sorta way.
These are a level up, made with egg roll wrappers and string cheese, fried in less than 5 minutes. Honestly not much more effort than throwing half a bag of pre-frozen mozzarella sticks into the oven and oh so worth it. Next time you have a craving or need a quick app, make these…they will not disappoint!

What You'll Need
Makes 6
String Cheese - 6
Egg Roll Wrappers - 6
Garlic Salt
Vegetable Oil - for frying
What You'll Do
Heat 1/4” of oil in large skillet over medium heat.
Meanwhile, prepare mozzarella sticks by laying out egg roll wrappers, placing string cheese diagonally in the center, sprinkling with garlic salt, and rolling up like a burrito. Fold bottom corner up and over cheese, fold in sides, then roll closed, sealing the last bit with a sprinkle of water.
Fry mozzarella sticks in oil for about a minute a side, 3-4 minutes total. Lay on paper towels when done.
Serve with your favorite marinara.
